The ones bold enough to explore these depths are akin to those desperate to carve an enduring legacy. Known as Gnomes, they are the terrestrial guardians of the Secret Garden. These miniature, mythic beings traverse the subterranean expanses in sweeping movements, scampering as tribes through Earth's deepest regions over countless generations. Their communal bonds and mutual concern are unparalleled, with kindness as their prized virtue. They journey as a unified body, ever in search of a new sanctuary, sneaking occasional glimpses of the surface world, exploring the territories of the overworld.

In their seldom visits the Gnomes come across humans, but weary the Gnomes are to reveal themselves, they perch as little statues in the humans’ gardens. Having spent most of their waking hours wandering all walks of life, they observed the different cultures that embellish humans. The Gnomes have become diverse amongst each other by adopting human traditions and practices, carrying a multitude of customs along their journeys. Marveled by the simple complexities of the humans, they tend to borrow their trinkets and rebuild them, discovering profound ways to reinvent and optimize their souvenirs.

Many prominent beasts covet its encaptivating promise, and attempt to crown it for their own, but few were ever able to reach it; and none to successfully leave with it.
In turn, the Gnomes have been attracted to such a calling. The daunting challenge of locating the source of power was a brutal objective, but with their incredible feats of navigation, the earth-dwellers made light work of the cave systems, quickly finding the source’s clever hiding.

The garden consisted of radiant flowers that carried a sweet smell all around, lightening the senses with a soft hint of its pleasurable aroma. Scattered about the garden were luminescent mushrooms that each gave off a gentle pink glow, lighting the entire hollow with its fresh glimmer.
